MAS NEWSLETTER FOR FIXERS NOVEMBER
1990 Successful Switch Thanks to everyone - MAS staff, clients and fixers alike - the change
over at the beginning of October to the new split Diary Services has come off
with only one hitch - guess who?
British Telecom of course! Our
ring in lines for the Strings went down at the end of the day one until lunch
time the next day. Apart from that
everything went very smoothly. The feed back we have had so far from fixers and clients has been
nothing but good. However if you have
any criticisms or suggestions Isobel and I would be only too happy to hear
from you. Please call in If you get the chance call in to see us. You are always welcome and it does help
everyone here to put a face to the name.
We are on the first floor above Halifax Property Services about half
way down the High Street four minutes walk from Dorking Halls - that famous
and much loved venue! If the door
downstairs is locked give us a buzz on the door entry phone. It now works o.k. Message pagers for fixers We are supplying more and more message pagers to orchestral managers
and freelance fixers. For those who
have not thought too much about it the benefits are:- a) Instantly
contactable - Messages can be easily got to you anyone including musicians. Confirmation, urgent requests to phone, etc b) Less phone calls - No need to
ring into the office/home unless you are paged c) Is it urgent? - You can always
tell if the message need an urgent response or if it can wait till you return
to bass. d) Are they on their
way? - Musicians who are delayed can quickly send a message to say they
are on their way without having to find you in some studio for which they
have not got the telephone number. For those interested - further information can be obtained by telephoning
0306 - 740077 Faxes are coming down Fax machines are coming down in price or at the very least giving you
more facilities for your money. We can
supply for instance a basic Canon 80 for £399 + VAT including one year on
site parts and labour warranty. No mistaking the printed word The convenience of sending and receiving confirmations in writing
speaks for itself and unlike the old days can be hand written saving
telephone time and misunderstandings.
An average A4 page takes approximately 20 seconds. How long would it take to read that out and
wait for it to be written down the other end? Finally CHRISTMAS
CLOSING NOTICE Time marches on and Christmas is looming up. As usual this year the Diary Service will
be closing for four days to give us all a break for a day or so at New Year
to give us all a chance to clear the head! Here are the times for you to note.
