FAX CONTACT MAS Fax number is 0306
880038. We will of course continue to use this to relay urgent messages while
you are abroad, providing you supply us with a fax number for your hotel. We
do emphasise that this procedure is for urgent messages only and still ask
you to keep in touch with us - whether on tour or on holiday. You can also
fax diary details to us. KEEPING
MAS INFORMED We would be grateful if you
could keep your secondary contact numbers up to date -always useful in a
crisis. It is also helpful to have a record of ALL secondary instruments
(where applicable). Finally a reminder for
everyone to keep in touch regularly. FINANCIAL
TIPS (GRAEME BLAIR - Tel: 081 467 0267) As interest rates are now
starting to fall, many musicians will be considering moving to a new property
or remortgaging their existing one to raise capital for home improvements or
the purchase of musical instruments. There are basically two types of
mortgage (Repayment and Interest Only) - further details from Robert Turrell,
the senior financial planner to Graeme Blair Financial Planning Ltd. Robert
gives the following general advice for current investment conditions: 1. Use existing investment
contracts not already earmarked for other uses to minimise monthly coots. 2.
Get quotation from solicitor for his charges. 3. Get quotation from broker
indicating comparisons with all mortgages available utilising existing investment
contracts. 4. Seek independent advice from an
adviser who can arrange a mortgage from most sources and can advise on
existing and new investment contracts from the market as a whole and not just
a single company. Robert advises against
taking out a deferred interest or fixed interest mortgage, and against
selling existing investment contracts as these can nearly always be used as
security against the new mortgage. RICHARD G SMITH MICHAEL
