The Premier Service That Does As Its told It
appears that a few clients are under the impression that our policies
regarding the service we offer have not changed since we began in 1976!
Please let me clear up any misconceptions.
Tell Us Where You Are If
you are not returning to home base or are returning after midnight, please
ring in with a contact number. Also Don't
forget you will still need to ring us if there are any alterations or
additions to your diary. Fixers Message Service Although
work offers are getting to our clients promptly it appears that the client
decisions to those offers "subject to confirmation", are not
necessarily getting back to the fixers quickly enough. Our
service is as much to the fixers (albeit free) as it is to our clients. By supporting the fixers in the best way we
can and listening to their requirements we are looking after your best
interests. Most
major fixers ring us at least once a day so to speed up the process we have
developed a specific system whereby the major fixers can receive messages
from our clients i.e. confirmations to work offers (yes or no) ; requests for instrumentations etc etc. Some
fixers will not wish to have confirmations handled in this way i.e. they will
still wish to be spoken to direct by the client. This must of course be respected by all
parties. * We will only inform a fixer of your
decisions if you ask us to. Some
clients like to handle that side of things themselves, so don’t assume it
will be done automatically. Important Our
policies at the Diary are not inflexible rules just our standard practice. Our overriding policy is : We tailor our service to your requirements
whether you are a client or a fixer.
The choice is always yours with MAS. We
are very aware of the hardship that musicians and the music profession have
suffered over the past couple of years. Despite our ever increasing overheads
we have decided to freeze MAS subscriptions at the current rate for a further
year in an effort to help our clients survive these difficult and somewhat
unstable times. Thanks For The Recommendations One
of the reasons we are able to maintain the present subscriptions for a
further year is that the client base has been increasing steadily thanks to
all those clients and fixers who have been recommending our service to
potential clients. The more clients who join, the better the service to the
fixers, the longer we can maintain the level of fees. Work Is On The Up! Despite
the recession there are definite signs that work, both sessions and
orchestral is on the increase, so all is not doom and gloom for the future. New C.V. Service We
are introducing a new C.V. service for all new clients that join. The basis
of it is as follows:-
We
will be informing all fixers of the new C.V. booklet available from us in our
next communication with them. The
reason for introducing the CV. service is that we get many enquiries from
fixers who are short of a player, regarding the sort of work this client or
that client does, and also many requests from new clients for lists of
orchestral names and addresses to send their C.V.s
to. We
feel this service could benefit both fixers and clients alike, helping to
bring the right people in touch with each other. Just A Reminder The
M.U. are producing a new directory for 1995/96 and
will stop accepting alterations to addresses/telephone numbers very soon.
Please make sure that your current address/telephone number is included and
that they have the diary service telephone number:-
01306 880669 included with your details. Please Come And Visit We
always welcome visits from you all at anytime. Given a little warning we
could even drum up a glass or two of wine. If I am aware that you are coming
I will try and make sure I am here too. Apart
from the spontaneous visits we get from you from time to time we are planning
to invite groups of clients to visit with the enticement of food and wine. If
any of you can organise a group visit let us know
and we will lay on a welcome worth your while. Financial Tips Are You Guilty Of Intestacy An
amazingly high percentage of people who die in this country leave their
families with all the problems of intestacy (dying without a legally valid
Will). Most
people assume that all their possessions automatically pass on to their
husband or wife or other members of the family. Unfortunately, many families
often face immediate financial hardship and sometimes they even have to sell
the family home - simply because no Will had been written. The
Law of Intestacy means that the State writes a Will for you and your
possessions are distributed according to this law. How many people would want
their estate to be divided in a way that gave them no choice in matter? Wills
can be written professionally for a fixed cost of £45 for a single Will or
£65 for a joint mirror Will. For further details telephone Robert Turrell on 0181 467 0267. |
