The Music Workshop Company

The Music Workshop Company is a new company that offers a range of music workshops to schools and other educational establishments. All workshops are led by professional musicians and are tailored to the needs of the school.

Through these individually designed workshops the Company provides a new and in-depth insight into the provision of music as part of the school’s curriculum. The musicians plan their workshops based on the requirements of the school taking into consideration the National Curriculum, attainment targets and the music department’s scheme of work. Workshops can be used to introduce children to music and instruments at an early age or to further student’s interest in G.C.S.E. and A level composition and set works. Projects can be a single concert, an interactive recital, cross-curricular projects, multiple workshops or coaching sessions.

All workshops are led by professional musicians with teaching and workshop   experience. Many are also top professional players, performing with groups such as The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Music is a powerful, unique form of communication that can change the way students feel, think and act. For those studying music at any level, working with other musicians is always a learning experience – working with those at the top of their profession is inspirational. The Music Workshop Company gives students the chance to work alongside professional musicians to further their interest in music – be it for examination, pleasure or as a stepping stone to their own musical career.
