Piano Trio Auditions

Auditions are to be held for a new London-based piano trio (piano, violin and cello). The new trio will be managed, recorded, published and promoted by Brana Records. Brana Records is devoted to promoting classical discoveries, by way of the restoration of rare recordings and the development of new artists. A “Roots and Wings” approach. Plans include the launch of a debut CD and a promotional website in late 2002. An intensive marketing and PR campaign and appearances at International Arts and Music Festivals will follow this from Spring 2003. The photos below illustrate the scope of the visual ‘image’ intended for the trio. (Note that this is not an audition for the Eroica Trio).

The successful candidates will of course demonstrate high levels of musicianship but they will also be supportive of the need to adopt a modern approach to image and marketing. A typical concert program will include established piano trio repertoire as well as solo and duo performances. Members of the trio may also be expected to address audiences and give interviews, so confidence in public speaking and an outgoing personality will be an advantage. Northern Sinfonia on the move! Northern Sinfonia has moved one step closer to it’s new home, Music Centre Gateshead. The chamber orchestra has left it’s Newcastle base and moved within site of the spectacular Foster & Partners designed Music Centre Gateshead, along with colleagues from Folkworks - England’s leading Folk music development agency.
