The Brodowski Quartet
Violins: David Brodowski, Catrin Win Morgan Viola: Felix Tanner Cello: Vanessa Lucas-Smith First Prize Winners of the 2008 Royal Overseas League Competition, the Brodowski Quartet are ‘the new kids on the London scene’, The Times. The quartet members originate from Germany, Wales, Scotland and England are currently based in London where they are recipients of the Bulldog Scholarship for String Quartet at Trinity College of Music and are ‘Associate Artists’ at the Anvil Concert Hall in Basingstoke. Group Young Artists for 2008, giving a critically acclaimed recital at the
Purcell Room in Since formation in 2005 they have enjoyed performing throughout Europe; in some of the foremost venues in the UK such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Barbican Hall and the Purcell Room, and have performed in festivals including the Kronberg Festival, the Orlando Festival and held a residency in Anghiari, Italy. Future Concerts include a series of performances in the Edinburgh Festival and see the Brodowski Quartet returning to perform at the Purcell Room and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. The Quartet are fortunate to regularly study with renowned musicians from the chamber music field, in particular Simon Rowland-Jones, Martin Outram, Professor Johannes Meissl and Professor Eberhardt Feltz. Their role as Junior Fellows of Trinity College of Music sees them regularly coaching student ensembles, working with the composition department and delivering their innovative, cross-departmental project ‘The Schubertiade project’. The Quartet is dedicated to educational work, giving concerts in association with the Philharmonia Education Department and the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust whose invaluable work increases awareness of Chamber Music amongst young people.
