Nathan studied with Ben Hoffnung, Peter Hill, James Strebing and Jonathan Herbert before starting his freelance career as a musician and teacher.

He commutes across the UK regularly and teaches orchestral percussion and drum kit at Bristol Grammar School. Nathan is also a visiting tutor for the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra and the Somerset Youth Orchestra.

His experience includes performances with Sakari Oramo, Peter Stark, Stephen Barlow, Pete Harrison, Lionel Friend, Jason Lai, Jim Lowe, Nigel Perrin, Andrew Shullman, Jason Thornton and Stephan Hofkes.

As a percussionist and specialist timpanist, his recent solo recitals have included the rare ‘Fischer’ 'Symphony for eight timpani and orchestra', premiered in the Bath Assembly Rooms. Nathan is also principal percussionist with the International Staff Band based in London, with this group he has made numerous recordings and toured the United Kingdom, Europe, United States and Canada.

Nathan can provide his own timpani and a range of percussion instruments.
